The 2009-2010 ODE Report Cards are in, and of the 26 state indicators, Lorain dropped from a dismal 3 last year to ONLY 1 this year.  No, that wasn’t a typo, 1 single indicator out of 26 total.   Four in 2008 ( her first year), three in 2009, One in 2010.  One less and we have achieved zero standards.   My Goodness is it possible our kids are trapped in this dysfunctional district?  And don’t forget they want LOTS MORE MONEY in November for this stellar performance.   We need to see some green before they ever see any more green. So lets go through the list: Key: E-Effective, CI-Continuous Improvement, AW-Academic Watch, AE Academic Emergency District Report (AW) Worse only 1 standard met Elementary Schools (Designation) Did they Improve? The numbers are in for the 2008- 2009 school year.  And the results are dismal again.  Last year we met 4 of the 30 state indicators, this year only 3 indicators were met.  In addition, 2 schools improved, while 3 dropped lower.  Two slipped into Academic Watch from Continuous Improvement.  One slipped from Effective to Continuous Improvement-Having Met 8 indicators last year and now down to 5. The Lorain School District now has no schools that are deemed “Effective” by the State Department of Education.  The one school we had, lost that designation.
